Treatment Planning

Your treatment timeline before a big event

How far ahead to schedule injectables, lasers, skin treatments, and body services when the date actually matters.

Work backward from the event date

Aesthetic treatments are easier to plan when the calendar is part of the consultation. Weddings, reunions, photo shoots, and major trips create a hard deadline. That deadline should influence treatment choice because swelling, bruising, peeling, and gradual collagen remodeling all happen on different timelines.

Eight to twelve weeks out

This is a useful window for treatments that may require a series or develop gradually. Depending on the patient, this can include collagen-stimulating treatments, some laser plans, RF microneedling, or the beginning of a body-contouring series.

Starting early also gives the provider room to adjust the plan if your skin responds differently than expected.

Four to six weeks out

This window can work for treatments with a more predictable recovery period when a provider has already assessed your skin. Some patients schedule light-based treatments, microneedling, or injectable appointments during this phase.

Two to three weeks out

For many patients, this is a more comfortable window for neuromodulator treatments because results have time to develop and settle. Filler should also be scheduled with enough time for swelling and bruising to resolve before important photos.

The final week

Keep the plan conservative. This is usually a poor time to experiment with an unfamiliar treatment or an aggressive procedure that could create visible healing. Gentle skincare or a no-downtime facial may be discussed if it fits the patient's skin and existing routine.

  • Tell your provider the exact event date during consultation.

  • Allow extra time if you bruise or swell easily.

  • Avoid trying a brand-new high-downtime treatment immediately before the event.

  • Build the plan around recovery time as carefully as the expected result.

Westside takeaway

The safest event plan is rarely the one with the most appointments. Start early, prioritize the concerns that will matter most in photos and in person, and leave enough recovery time that you are not watching the calendar while waiting for swelling to disappear.
